The Prescription of the Blue Zone

 Nearly 10 years ago, the regions called blue zones where people of more than 100 years old lived were determined in the world, and it was observed that those people had common properties.

Those common properties give us the simplest good-life recipe. The first common property is that they feed heavily on vegetables; the second is that they are active for their whole lifetime. The third common property is that they eat evening dinners early. And the final one is that they are sociable and in good relationships with people. If we also add the habits of positive thinking, a particular mobility, and having continuous mental activity to a recipe in which we abide by those four simple principles, then we will be managing to carry our recipe to excellence.

My Life Prescription

People writing prescriptions for themselves are people writing their own life stories. I, at least every three months, look at my prescription again and renew it. And, I keenly suggest this to everybody.

First thing in the morning:

Mixed into a glass of water at room temperature the juice of a lemon or apple vinegar, and the current food supplements.

Sports:

Trampoline, Sonic Wave, Inversion Device, stretching yoga movements. Then sauna.

Instead of breakfast:

A mixed drink of the juice of cucumber, wheatgrass, ginger, spirulina, black seed oil, lemon, turmeric.

Until lunch:

Herbal tea, green tea etc.

From lunch until dinner at 6 pm. Some snacks based on nutrition (pine-nut, almond, goji berry, walnut etc.) and a lot of water and Oolong tea…

Late afternoon:

A light sports and stretching exercise.

Evening, 6 pm.:

A vegetable-based dish, then continue herbal teas.

Before sleep:

I stop computer usage 1 hour before going to bed.

I listen to “deep sleep” from the Brain Wave 32 binaural programs app.

I take 15 mg. sublingual melatonin and sleep.

While traveling:

In my car and office, I keep herbal tea and high-nutrition snacks.

When I eat out:

I make my choice in the way of minimal damage. I eat short and sweet.

Alcohol:

A glass, maximum two, of wine. Sometimes, alternatively, a single whiskey or cognac.

Coffee:

Maximum one shot of coffee a day (cocoa oil or coconut oil mixed in). The purpose is to prevent the sudden caffeine load by spreading the impact over a long time.

 Eating for pleasure:

I eat everything if I feel like it. However, I keep the frequency of it to an acceptable level. (Max. twice a week)

On vacation:

Balanced and free. If exaggerated, when back I start water-fasting or vegetable juice fasting.

When I eat for pleasure I take a lot of digestion enzyme, HCI acid.

In my general world approach: unconditional positive regard, gratitude, transferring my own ideas by approving and accepting people, making an effort to be constantly mindful, the effort of using “wise mind”.

My food supplement choices:

B3/Niacin, Pregnenolone, DHEA, enzyme, Bosmeric, Probiotic[1], B 12, Vitamin C, Magnesium, Calcium[2], Iodine[3], Turmeric, Omega-3… (Changing with other supplements from time to time, all of which are herbal and in food consistency, meaning the original state has not been changed.)

And of course, consumption of a lot of alkaline / ionized water.

[1] Probably probiotics will gain more importance in the coming years. There are many unexplored functions of the flora of the intestines. When probiotics are given to pregnant women, the allergies in the child decrease via the flora of the intestine. When the intestinal microbes of people of average weight are given to obese people, sometimes the weight can decrease etc.

[2] There are works towards the fact that in a day, more than 1000 mg. of calcium supplement may increase coronary artery illness (heart vessel blockage).

[3] It is said that people who have thyroiditis (ex: Hashimoto illness) should not take an iodine supplement.

Deficiency lack of proper nutrition for rejuvenation and toxemia accumulating toxins which blocks our natural flow of health.When we talk about nutrition we talk about enzymes, vitamins, minerals, phytochemical, amino acids etc. which are building blocks of a healthy body.

Nutrition should be whole and hopefully not processed at all, which means as it is in nature. For example when you powder the herbs you should cold process to avoid changing the nutritional effect of the food. In line with that when we are into supplements we should look for whole food based ones. Animal based nutrition is toxic to some degree and a more costly way of nurturing our body, therefore plant based diet always a healthier way of nurturing ourselves.

Epigenetic is the area where the real importance of genes are formed. If we don’t have the environment for the relevant gene to triggered / activated we will not be harmed of carrying that gene.

So gene environment is more important than the gene itself.

Also in any healing process regarding chronic diseases clean diet, zero mistake diet is bigger part of the healing journey. A Clean Diet stretches from water fasting, green juice fasting to plant based raw food. We may handle the symptoms without addressing the nutritional element of the healing. However for full health we need to have nutrition as base for healing process.

Principle #1 The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

Principle #2 Vitamin supplements are not a panacea for good health

Principle #3 There are virtually no nutrients in animal-based foods that are not better provided by plants

Principle #4 Genes do not determine disease on their own. Genes function only by being activated, or expressed, and nutrition plays a critical role in determining which genes, good and bad, are expressed.

Principle #5 Nutrition can substantially control the adverse effects of noxious chemicals.

Principle #6 The same nutrition that prevents disease in its early stages (before diagnosis) can also halt or reverse disease in its later stages (after diagnosis)

Principle #7 Nutrition that is truly beneficial for one chronic disease will support health across the board.

Principle #8 Good nutrition creates health in all areas of our existence. All parts are interconnected.

100+ Yıllık Yaşamların Peşinde

Yüz yıllık yaşamlara bakıldığında  Dr Mercola’nın “How to Live To Be 100” yazısında olduğu gibi, bir takım farklı gerçekler ile yüzleşiyoruz. Örneğin bugünün yüz yaşındaki insanları, 1970’lere kadar dünya nimetlerine saygılı büyüdükleri için o tarihlerden sonra da bolluk içinde kaybolup gidemediler. Kısacası beslenme temelleri mükemmel olmasa da oldukça sağlıklıydı. Diğer taraftan asıl faydasını gördükleri yer ise ruh halleriydi.
